Linnea Boyev is a retired ophthalmologist living in the north suburbs of Chicago. She got her undergraduate, graduate and medical degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana, and trained in ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and surgical retina at Tufts University in Boston. She currently works part-time on the adjunct faculty of Oakton Community College, teaching pharmacology and/or tutoring pathophysiology to nursing students. She also teaches continuing education classes to faculty on student engagement and assessment. She is the proud mother of a twenty-something boy who mysteriously speaks fluent Japanese. Linnea posts video content on YouTube on her "TaiChiKnees" channel. She has two cats and four fancy dumbo rat companions. Linnea spends some of her free time these days taking online classes, doing home DIY, playing tabletop games, and performing with her guitar group.
